Are you looking for connection, engagement, and meaningful ways to spend your time during the day? Beth and Leon Mooneyhan, two retired educators with a passion for travel, volunteering, and staying active, are starting a daytime community group here at Christ Community Church.

Beth, a retired special education teacher, and Leon, the former superintendent of Shelby County Schools and CEO of the Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative, bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for fostering community. After 18 years at OVEC, Leon retired two years ago, and together they’ve continued to lead vibrant, purpose-driven lives.

From needlepoint and volunteering with CASA to adventures across Europe, Australia, China, and beyond, Beth and Leon embody a zest for learning, connecting, and giving back.

If you’re interested in being part of this new community group, come to an informational and interest meeting on Monday, January 6th, at 10:00 AM at Christ Community Church. The group will discuss potential days and times for regular gatherings.
